I hate to admit it, but it's coming up very quickly. Have you thought about what your children will do this summer when school is out? This week I have included information from the Calgary Public Library and some other free or low cost activities for children to do in Calgary. Next week I will include some things your children can do at home that will help keep them entertained and learning over the summer break. This was a very busy week at school. We started the week with Mac'stache day. This event was sponsored by our Grade 5/6 Leadership students to raise money for Fort MacMurray. This event raised $100. that will be added to the Grade 5/6 challenge to the school to raise $500. If we meet this goal we will have a Super Splash Waterball event to celebrate! Tuesday was Bike to School Calgary Day! We had approximately 110 riders (not including parents) and every one had a helmet! Thanks to ProHab for working with us to make this day so impactful for our community and to our families for recognizing the importance of safe physical activity! If your child has a bike, scooter, trike, roller blades or skateboard, PLEASE be sure that they are wearing a helmet. We love their brains and we want them to be safe. It's also the law in Alberta. Inspired by Bike to School event, this week many classes learned about being healthy. With the beautiful warm weather this week lots of our students spent time learning new frisbee games and about keeping their bodies healthy. Students learned and shared their understandings in lots of ways this week. Here are just a few samples from Twitter.
